Job Description:
Provide exceptional nursing care in a dynamic Level 1 Trauma hospital setting, specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patient populations. This contract opportunity is located in Perry, GA, offering a collaborative environment with a 30-bed med-surg/tele unit at a large, teaching hospital known for its Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive care to patients with diverse acute and chronic conditions including heart failure, A-Fib, COPD, sepsis, and post-op cardiac procedures. Perform skilled nursing tasks such as trach care, chest tube management, PIV and central line insertions, wound care, and telemetry monitoring with accurate interpretation. Manage IV drips including insulin and heparin; titrate heart rate medications as needed. Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, facilitate discharge planning, and provide patient education with emphasis on renal and fluid management. Adhere to hospital protocols and participate in weekend and holiday rotations within a supportive nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing preferred. Current RN license with BLS certification required; ACLS and Medical-Surgical certification preferred. Ability to pass EKG competency exam as part of compliance requirement. Strong clinical judgment and excellent assessment skills suitable for a Level 1 Trauma facility. Experience with EMR systems, preferably EPIC, and proficiency in cardiac telemetry technology. Schedule: 12-hour shifts, either 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM. Weekend rotation with 5-6 shifts every 6 weeks. Work one major holiday shift per cycle. No on-call responsibilities.
