Thepositions require 2 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of NeurologyFellowship and can be tenure or non-tenure. Candidates must be BC/BE in Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology and willhold or be eligible for an Illinois physician's license.The idealChild Neurology candidate will be BC/BE in Pediatrics or in Neurology with aPediatric Neurology concentration and will hold or have applied for an Illinoisphysician's license. Position SummaryThe Pediatric Neurologist will provide clinical services both in-patient and out-patient primarily at OSF Healthcare Children's Hospital of Illinois. They will be responsible for teaching medical students and residents. Scholarly work activity (research, quality improvement, and advocacy) is expected but tailored to the faculty member's interests.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide acute and ongoing consultative care to children with broad range of neurological conditions including epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, developmental delays, headaches, movement disorders, and neurogenetic problems in the hospital and outpatient setting.Participate in educational and training programs for medical students and residents of the Department of Pediatrics.Participate in collaborative research activities of the Division and Department.Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development and student counseling.Minimum QualificationsMD/DO or foreign equivalentEligible for licensure in Illinois2 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years Pediatric Neurology FellowshipBC/BE in Pediatrics and Neurology with a concentration in Pediatric Neurology Preferred QualificationsInterest in pursuing research, quality improvement, and other professional development activitiesAbility to engage across diverse specialty groupsExperience developing clinical programs Physician leadership experienceAbout University ofIllinois College of Medicine, Peoria (UICOMP) Department of Pediatrics and OSFHealthcare Children's Hospital of Illinois: UICOMP is one ofthe three regional campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine,one of the largest public medical schools in the country.
