We’re looking for a dependable and skilled Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility operating safely, efficiently, and at the highest standards.About the RoleThe Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, functionality, and appearance of KanPak’s buildings and surrounding grounds. This role involves skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and groundskeeping.You’ll work with a high level of independence while coordinating closely with Engineering and Capital Project leadership to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and facility reliability.What You’ll DoMain Functions:Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, roofs, siding, walls, flooring, and exterior surfacesComplete interior and exterior painting projects as neededRepair and patch flooring to maintain safe walking surfacesRemove snow and apply salt to roadways, walkways, and access pointsPerform minor electrical repairs, including:Wall switches and outletsLight fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, sockets, and fusesMinor appliances and cordsPerform minor plumbing repairs, including:Fixing faucet and drain leaksUnclogging drainsTrenching and laying small utility linesReplace HVAC filters and clean exhaust fansResponsibilities Related to the Job:Coordinate GSF Quality activities and operations to meet objectives for quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction at KanPak.Participate in formulating and administering division’s short- and long-range goals and objectives for business growth.Equipment & ToolsSafely operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipmentOperate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, mowers, loaders, and snow plowsEstimate time and materials needed for maintenance and repair tasksOther ResponsibilitiesWork flexible hours as required to support facility needsMaintain confidentiality of sensitive company informationPerform other related maintenance duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver’s license (must be maintained)Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong understanding of safe work practicesPreferred Experience1+ year of building and grounds maintenance experienceFood manufacturing or food industry experience (preferred)Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficiency with hand and power tools (saws, drills, grinders, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)Experience operating forklifts and lift equipmentAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailSelf-motivated, reliable, and accountableTeam-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and pride in workThe Schedule and Setting: Pay Range (Base Pay): $22/hourDays: Tuesday-Friday 10hr Shift or Monday-Thursday 10hr ShiftShift: 6a-4pWork EnvironmentAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to climb ladders and stairsAbility to bend, kneel, stoop, and stand for extended periodsAbility to distinguish colors, sounds, and smells as required for safety and maintenance tasksWhy Join KanPak?Stable, essential role in a growing manufacturing facilityOpportunity to work across multiple skilled tradesTeam-focused environment with strong safety and quality cultureMake a direct impact on facility performance and employee safetyPAY & BENEFITS At KanPak, a golden state foods company, we believe that investing in our associates strengthens our culture and fuels our growth.
