Under the administrative guidance of the Long-Term Care (LTC) Director of Nursing (DON), the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) establishes, maintains, and enhances clinical and operational systems to achieve positive outcomes for residents, families, and staff. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating strategies that ensure nursing competency, excellence in practice, effective use of technology, and high levels of customer satisfaction. The ADON supports fiscal responsibility through budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, and revenue enhancement while maintaining a strong focus on quality resident care. The ADON holds24-hour responsibility and accountabilityfor the facility and actively participates in and/or chairs committees related to nursing operations and organizational performance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Under the administrative guidance of the LTC DON, duties include but are not limited to: Oversee the facilitysPerformance Improvement Program, ensuring care delivery meets regulatory standards and organizational expectations aligned with the mission, vision, and values; participate in the LTC divisional Performance Improvement Committee Provide oversight of thePRI and MDS processesto maximize reimbursement and support financial sustainability Represent the Nursing Department on theLTC Safety Committeeand coordinate employee safety initiatives Coordinate and oversee theLTC attendance procedure process Providedaily supervisory oversightof nursing staff and clinical operations AssumeNurse Manager responsibilitiesin the absence of another Nurse Manager Participate in therecruitment and interview processfor Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) candidates Education: Minimum: Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Professional Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Preferred: Masters of Science in Nursing Licensure: Required: CurrentNew York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN)license Work Experience: Minimum: Four (4) years of managerial experience and two (2) years of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership abilities in a Long-Term Care setting Knowledge and application ofNew York State Department of Health (NYSDOH)regulations, including successful experience with the survey process Preferred: Prior experience at theAssistant Director of Nursinglevel Skills & Competencies: Required: Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with medical staff, department leaders, residents, families, and the public in a resident- and family-centered environment Ability to function effectively in high-stress or challenging situations Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism Computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software Preferred: PRI and MDS knowledge and/or experience Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Schedule & Compensation: Schedule:Full-time, day shift (hours may vary based on operational needs)On-call:As required; 24-hour accountability appliesCompensation:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceBenefits:Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities Qualifications: Required:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license Minimum:Four years of managerial experience Minimum:Two years of experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting Why is This a Great Opportunity: Why Penn Yan & the Finger Lakes Region?
