Auto Investment, Inc is an automotive dealership holding company with approximately 450+ employees, that operates across 6 stores and 2 body shops located in Alabama, North Carolina and Texas. They currently have a rare opening for a Human Resources Director located at their corporate office, located in Pelham, AL The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and executing human resources functions within the organization. This role combines strategic HR leadership with hands-on operational support, ensuring effective implementation of HR programs while supporting the company's overall business objectives. The position serves as a trusted advisor to leadership while managing daily HR operations including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and performance management. This is NOT a remote position and requires some travel. Pay is commiserate with experience. Strategic HR Leadership Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives. Provide guidance on organizational structure, workforce planning, and talent development. Support leadership with change management and culture initiatives. Recruitment & Onboarding Manage full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, hiring, and onboarding. Collaborate with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies. Ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new employees. Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters. Conduct investigations and resolve workplace concerns in a fair and consistent manner. Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee management issues. Compliance & Policy Administration Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook. Manage unemployment claims, workers' compensation matters, and HR documentation. Performance Management & Employee Development Oversee performance review processes and employee development initiatives. Provide coaching and training to managers on performance management and best practices. Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs. Compensation & Benefits Administer employee benefits programs and serve as liaison with benefit providers. Support compensation planning, salary benchmarking, and pay equity initiatives. Manage benefits enrollment and employee communications. HR Operations & Administration Maintain employee records and HRIS systems. Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership. Process employment changes including promotions, transfers, and terminations.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 5-10+ years of progressive HR experience in both strategic and operational roles. Strong knowledge of employment taws and HR best practices. Experience managing employee relations, recruiting, benefits, and compliance. HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
