Description of Duties:Under the supervision of the Marketing Officer, researches, drafts and assists with finalizing content for electronic and print materials supporting Leeward Community College's marketing, recruitment, outreach, and public information efforts. Assists with creating and developing content for the College's online presence, including websites, social media platforms, and other digital communications channels. Content may include written copy, still images, graphics, short-form video, and related multimedia materials. Assists with designing and producing marketing and promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, digital ads, presentations, and related collateral to support institutional initiatives and programs. Performs basic editing of digital media, including formatting content for web and social media distribution and adapting materials for multiple platforms. Assists in coordinating and supporting marketing-related events and outreach activities, including open houses, recruitment events, community engagement programs, and campus tours. Responsibilities may include assisting with planning logistics, developing promotional materials, coordinating communications, and ensuring brand consistency across event materials. Produces completed projects from concept to delivery on time and within budget with a high degree of creativity and attention to detail. Assignments may include working outside of normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend and/or holidays as directed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a baccalaureate degree in communication, marketing, journalism, design, public relations, or related field and 1 year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for marketing, communications, public relations or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of marketing demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with marketing. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of marketing. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, presentation, and basic design software applications (ex. Canva). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of social media platforms for institutional or business purposes. Experience supporting or coordinating promotional events, outreach activities, or community engagement initiatives. Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to travel independently in a timely and efficient manner to various locations on O?ahu. Ability to work outside of normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend and/or holidays as directed. Desired Qualifications:Experience in higher education marketing or public sector communications. Functional knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress. Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns across digital and print platforms. Demonstrated experience using creative software applications (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud) to develop marketing materials. Experience assisting with planning and promoting institutional events.
