Job Description:
Administrative Support Seasonal Position Under the supervision of the Department Director and/or Manager, approximately 40 hours a week, a hands-on position will be responsible for assisting across multiple City departments. Assist with ongoing projects and initiatives within different departments, offering support in tasks such as data collection, project coordination, and administrative duties Identify area for process improvements Collaborate with departmental teams on special projects as assigned, utilizing interns; unique skills and interests to contribute to innovative solutions Research and implement solutions for enhanced efficiency Provide general administration assistance and support to departmental staff, including answering phones, responding to emails, and organizing files and documents Participation in various meetings Supporting event coordination Performing research at a supervisor's request Be able to attend city council meetings at supervisor's request Be available to participate in the entire program. Performs other related duties as assigned Basic understanding of the field (e.g., marketing, engineering, finance, healthcare) Awareness of key trends and challenges in the sector Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite Ability to find and analyze information relevant to tasks Writing professional emails, participating in meetings, and presenting ideas clearly Prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines Thinking critically and handling challenges efficiently Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to projects Arriving on time and meeting deadlines Being open to learning and feedback Understanding workplace privacy and ethics Showing initiative and willingness to take on new tasks Understanding workplace culture and dress code Respecting hierarchy and company policies Building professional relationships with colleagues and mentors Engaging in company events or social activities 2.8 GPA or higher required High school applicant- a rising high school senior as of summer 2025 College applicants- currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, pursuing a degree in public administration, political science, urban planning, sociology, finance, human resources or related field.
