Forklift Operator 12 months Contract Palmdale, FL, USA 33944 Shift: 1st (6 AM to 2:30 PM) Pay rate: $ Depend upon experience Job Summary: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift, managing the movement, relocation, stacking, and counting of merchandise within the facility. Skills and Competencies: l Proficient in forklift operation with a strong emphasis on safety. l Ability to lift and move 50 pounds safely. l Proficient in climbing on and off required equipment. l Capability to endure long periods of sitting during operation. l Effective communication skills. l Basic mathematical skills for tasks such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. l Ability to read and write in English and follow instructions. l Comfort working in varying environmental conditions (e.g., dusty, hot/cold/rainy weather). l Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: l Conducts thorough safety checks on the forklift before operation, ensuring all necessary fluid levels are within safe limits. l Monitors and maintains fluid levels (oil, water, fuel) prior to forklift operation. l Coordinates with the supervisor to manage pallet inventory, ensuring an adequate supply for packaging lines. l Removes palletized bags from production lines and operates the stretch-wrapper, changing stretch film as required. l Ensures neat and damage-free storage of palletized bags in the designated rows within the inventory. l Actively participates in plant cleanliness by restacking, trash and debris removal, and equipment washing. l Reads Bill of Lading (BOLs) accurately and loads carriers' trucks with the correct quantity and SKU, reporting any changes to the Dispatcher or office personnel. l Conducts physical inventory counts of finished goods as required. l Meets quality and quantity standards while ensuring the safe operation of the forklift and maintaining fluid levels.
