Location: Palestine, Tx Pay Rate: $14.50 hr (Pay increase to $16.00 hr after 90-day conversion) Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMPosition Overview: The sanitation worker plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various settings. The ideal candidate should have a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and a commitment to contributing to a safe and organized work environment. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning/sanitation of all areas of the facility to include waste management and ensuring a safe and healthy environment. The required duties will include sanitizing, thorough cleaning and following protocols for disposing of materials in a food manufacturing facility. The Sanitation worker will perform manual tasks that will include physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, walking and moving in and around a manufacturing facility. The Sanitation worker must ensure all quality, physical safety and food safety standards are adhered to and must follow all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) while performing their duties. This position reports to the Quality Control Supervisor. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in restrooms, break rooms, common areas and designated areas of the manufacturing facility to include monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies as needed • Sanitize tables, counters, and clean microwaves in the breakroom • Refrigerator(s) are to be cleaned out and wiped down at the end of each week • Empty and clean trash bins and disposal of waste in accordance with established procedures • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors • Clean windows, glass surfaces and mirrors using appropriate cleaning agents • Daily maintain and keep trays under the Arizona line clean and free of mold utilizing appropriate cleaning agents • Clean/Remove any debris on production floor • Daily keep tunnels one and two clean and wiped down • Use shop-vac to pick up any standing water on floor • Clean the floor in Tampico room next to the PET filler with the pressure washer • In all areas, dust and remove cobwebs with detail in corners, ceilings and window areas. • Clean any debris around the sugar silos • Clean floor going out to sugar silo once a week • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work Requirements: Basic understanding of health and safety regulations Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic Quick learner, motivated, and reliable Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Preventive Actions, Quality Policy, Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Safety policies Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards with the ability to handle cleaning chemicals and follow safety guidelines Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures and follow established protocols for handling and disposing of hazardous materials Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team If you would like to apply for this position, please apply online at and select ATHENS as your branch.
