You're not just joining a company, you are becoming part of a tradition built on service, relationships, and a commitment to excellence.POSITION SUMMARYReporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Director serves as the company's primary HR leader, responsible for developing, implementing, and leading all human resources functions across 100+ employees and multiple locations spanning seven states. This role provides both strategic leadership and hands-on execution in areas including compliance, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, and organizational culture. This is a critical leadership role focused on building structure, ensuring compliance, strengthening employee engagement, and supporting the continued growth and success of the organization.ORGANIZATIONAL INTEGRATIONThe Human Resources Director will work closely with the CEO, President, and executive leadership team to align HR strategies with business objectives. This role will also partner with managers across all locations to provide guidance, coaching, and support on employee-related matters while helping develop internal talent.HUMAN RESOURCES LEADERSHIP & STRATEGYServe as the HR leader for the organization, providing strategic direction and day-to-day supportEvaluate current HR practices and build scalable systems, policies, and processesPartner with leadership to support organizational growth and succession planningHelp define and shape company culture, employee engagement, and retention strategiesOversee and develop existing HR staff while building additional HR infrastructure as neededCOMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENTEnsure compliance across multiple states and jurisdictions with varying employment lawsDevelop, update, and maintain employee handbook, policies, and proceduresProvide guidance on employee relations issues, investigations, and disciplinary actionsPartner with leadership on risk mitigation and best practices in labor and employment mattersServe as a resource to leadership on labor relations matters, including union interactions, contract interpretation, and grievance processesSupport safety and compliance initiatives, including maintaining and managing third-party contractor and safety platforms such as Avetta to ensure accurate records and adherence to customer and regulatory requirementsMaintain proper documentation, recordkeeping, and HR compliance standards across all locationsTALENT ACQUISITION AND ONBOARDINGLead recruitment strategy and execution for all levels of the organizationPartner with leadership to identify hiring needs and define job requirementsOversee onboarding processes to ensure a positive and consistent employee experienceDevelop strategies to attract, retain, and develop high-quality talentEMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENTServe as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees regarding workplace concerns and conflict resolutionDevelop and implement performance management processes, including evaluations and feedback systemsCoach managers on leadership, accountability, and effective employee management practicesPromote a positive, respectful, and productive work environmentTRAINING & DEVELOPMENTIdentify training needs and develop programs to support employee growth and leadership developmentProvide guidance and support for management training, including compliance-related topicsSupport the professional development of employees at all levels of the organizationOPERATIONS & HR ADMINISTRATIONOversee HR processes including employee records, onboarding, offboarding, and documentationPartner with payroll and benefits administration to ensure accuracy and efficiencyEvaluate and recommend HR systems, tools, and process improvementsLead the management of employee benefits programs, including working with and negotiating with insurance brokers on plan design, renewals, and cost strategies to ensure competitive and sustainable offeringsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field requiredMaster's degree or professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR strongly preferred7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleStrong knowledge of US employment laws, compliance, and HR best practicesExperience managing employee relations, investigations, and performance management processesProficiency with HRIS platforms, preferably ADPExposure to labor relations and union environments, including collective bargaining, grievance handling, or contract interpretation, preferredKEY COMPETENCIESStrong leadership presence with the ability to influence and build trust at all levelsExtremely high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalismExcellent communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilitiesAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionOrganized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWORK SCHEDULE & LOCATIONFull-time position based in Paducah, KYOccasional travel between locations will be required (approximately 15%), primarily for leadership support, employee relations, and operational alignmentBENEFITS OF WORKING WITH USCompetitive compensation based on experienceMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceVacation, sick, and holiday paid time offCompany provided short and long-term disability, and life insurance401(k) with company matchOpportunity to build and lead the HR function within a growing organizationHigh-impact role with direct access to executive leadershipQUESTIONS?Reach out to us via email: us on LinkedIn and FacebookHenry H.
