Job Description:
Department: TransportationQualifications: Associate's degree in accounting, business management, inventory management or equivalent combination of education and training Three years of experience in repair parts inventory management and/or three years experience in accounting and budget. Experience in clerical/secretarial work; prior transportation background experience preferred. Valid NC driver's license. Reports To: Director of Transportation Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Follow all rules, policies and procedures of Granville County Public Schools, along with regulations pertaining to the Transportation Department. Maintain daily automated accounting system for all costs such as: gasoline, diesel fuel, grease, parts, tires, and labor served through and by the school bus garage staff. Maintain daily automated inventory system for all inventories; items ordered, received, stored and issued. Examine invoices to assure that they are in accordance with deliveries and invoices are correct before being paid. Communicate and coordinate billing and payment with the local finance officer. Create positive relationships with local school administration and parents of children who use the transportation system. Maintains good communication with drivers, transportation and school officials, and the general public. Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Maintain current financial and inventory data to adhere to and comply with all guidelines and polices of the state and local Board of Education and NC Department of Public Instruction for use in preparing required forms and data analysis.
