This role will replenish existing products as well as assist with new development as needed. This role facilitates conversations with vendors all over the world to get high-quality products on time and on budget.This position reports to the Area Manager - Costume Buying.This is a temporary assignment with no guarantee of permanent placement.What You Will Do:Conduct research for finished goods that will be purchasedPlace orders for operational garments in SAP and/or Coupa and monitor delivery dates for commodities/components being orderedMonitor warehouse inventory and complete withdrawal transactions when neededWork with vendors to negotiate the best costsEnsure receipt by vendorsIssue requests and secure all required garment samplesPartner with various clients to ensure costume quality is maintainedFollow all The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) procurement policiesCommunicate production status to partnersTrack and clear blocked invoices via communication with requestorsGuide assignments for a select group of hourly union cast membersRequired Qualifications & Skills:3+ years of experience in apparel or hardline purchasing and/or sourcingKnowledgeable in the apparel industry, both domestically and globallySkilled in international shipping processes, global sourcing, and complianceExperience conducting cost analysis and comparisonsPrior experience in planning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, influencing, and negotiatingExperience leading workflow and project budgetsRobust communication skills and ease in collaborating both in-person and virtually with all levels of leadership, including ExecutivesExperience with continuous improvement processAbility to work around all types of synthetic fibers, human hair, furs, prosthetics, adhesives, contact lenses, and cosmeticsSchedule availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and holidaysAbility to travel domestically and/or internationally requiredAbility to travel between work locations on a given dayMust hold or be able to attain a valid state driver's licensePreferred QualificationsExperience using SharePoint and/or SmartsheetExperience with SAP purchasing module, Coupa, Yunique PLM, and/or AccessKnowledge in Textiles or the Apparel industryExperience in international shipping processes and global sourcingSkilled in garment specification or technical specification writingEducationHigh School diploma or equivalent is requiredBachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Costuming, Apparel, or a related field is preferredAdditional InformationBenefits and Perks: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life. xijylhu This includes health and savings benefits, educational opportunities and special extras that only Disney can provide.
