Job Description:
HR Generalist Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all site personnel; assists with implementation/review of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook, and policies and procedures manual. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Assist HR Manager in meeting department budget. Participates in daily production meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains site organization charts and site directory. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database. Manages FMLA tracking for hourly personnel. Maintains personnel files according to company and legal requirements. Monitors and maintains formal and informal company communications. Ensures all communication centers are maintained in an orderly fashion with up-to-date material. Identifies training problems within the process, product or system and develop solutions. Supports Corporate training initiatives/requirement. Provide training in human resources venues. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of employee issues and positive relationships with team members in efforts to support a team-based environment. Responsible for hourly employee relations and conduct investigations regarding any employee concerns/issues. Coordinates the interviewing, hiring, and selection of hourly and exempt team members. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Coordinates and leads the orientation process for all new employees. Coordinates interviews with new team members still in the probationary period in order to identify any team members issues related to training, relationships with co-workers or team leaders, performance, benefit administration, etc. Responsible for all administrative HR functions. Manages the probationary review process. Manages all facets of the attendance policy. Handles benefits and payroll administration for hourly employees. Ensure issues are resolved timely and within established plan guidelines. Prepares headcount, turnover, attendance, and other reports as requested by plant manager and HR corporate team. Responsible for establishing UltiPro workflows and managing payroll approval, oversight and employee payroll changes via UltiPro. Working closely with corporate payroll personnel. Reconciles the IMPREST fund. Supports safety initiatives and processes to eliminate serious injuries. Supports the facility in achieving the company's group's objectives. Performs exit interviews and monitor trends for retention issues. Responsible for all administrative HR functions and site plant events. Assists Ottawa employees and visitors with travel arrangements. Data entry for training records, hours and minutes of Employee Meetings. Coordinates Executive Visit, Audits, Workshops and Conferences hosted by the Ottawa facility. Fills in for the Human Resource Manager in their absence. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or Organizational Development or equivalent experience. 3-5 years progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably in manufacturing environment. Knowledge of applicable State & Federal Employment Laws. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Understanding and support of employee involvement concepts. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Knowledge of UKG. Knowledge of Benefit Plans. Qualifications Desired: PHR or SPHR certification. Strong leadership abilities.
