Job Description:
Description The Quality and Safety Assistant support the hospital's quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance programs. This role assists with data collection, reporting, documentation, and coordination of activities that help the CAH meet CMS Conditions of Participation, state regulations, and accreditation standards. The assistant plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting performance-improvement initiatives, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. Essential Job Functions • Assists with data collection, entry, validation, and analysis for quality and performance-improvement initiatives. • Prepares routine quality reports, dashboards, and summaries for committees and for Director for Quality and Director of Safety and Accreditation • Supports monitoring of quality indicators, patient outcomes, and regulatory metrics. • Helps track corrective action plans and follow-up activities related to quality or safety findings • Assists with incident reporting processes, including documentation, follow-up, and trend tracking. • Helps maintain logs, records, and documentation related to safety, infection prevention, and Environment of Care (EOC) activities. • Provides administrative support for safety initiatives, drills, and training events • Assists with survey readiness activities, including document preparation, policy organization, and evidence-of-compliance tracking. • Helps maintain accreditation files, regulatory binders, and required documentation for DNV, CMS, and state surveys. • Supports internal audits, tracers, and mock surveys by gathering data and preparing materials. • Assists in preparing educational materials, presentations, and staff communications related to quality and safety. • Help coordinate staff training sessions, drills, and competency activities. • Supports communication of quality and safety initiatives across departments • Provides administrative support to Quality, Safety, Infection Prevention, and EOC committees. • Assists the Director of Quality and the Director of Safety and Accreditation with any and all job related functions or needs • Prepares agendas, minutes, attendance logs, and follow-up documentation. • Demonstrates reliable attendance and punctuality. • Upholds organizational values and regulatory expectations in all aspects of work. • Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times. Follows HIPAA regulations and policies. • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. • Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma required, associate's degree in healthcare or related field is preferred • Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education, 2-3 years' experience in Quality, Safety or Healthcare Accreditation is preferred • Educational requirements may be substituted with experience in a related position.
