Job SummaryThe Quarry Supervisor oversees daily operations at the quarry, ensuring efficient and safe extraction, processing, and delivery of raw materials to meet production targets. Medical, Dental, Vision low-cost premiums even for family coverageCompany-paid life/AD&D insuranceCompany-paid short-term disabilityPaid sick/vacation/holiday401k/Company Funded Pension Program (program is dependent upon location and job type)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Additional voluntary benefits Compensation$85,000 - $100,000 is the associated range, depending on experience.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily quarry production activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and crushingEnsure compliance with all MSHA/OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies and proceduresMonitor production metrics, report on performance, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce downtimeOversee the maintenance and safe operation of quarry equipment, ensuring adherence to preventative maintenance schedulesSupport mine planning activities by coordinating extraction sequences and aligning production with long-term quarry plansManage stockpiles, inventory, and raw material flow to ensure consistent quality and supply for downstream operationsCoordinate and supervise blasting operations, ensuring proper handling of explosives and compliance with regulationsConduct inspections of work areas, equipment, and processes to ensure quality standards and identify hazardsProvide leadership, training, and performance feedback to quarry employees to develop skills and maintain high moraleCollaborate with plant, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure operational goals are achievedResponsible for creating shift schedules, managing crew overtime assignments, arranging for vacation coverage, and approving employee timesheetsFills in for the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Manager when that employee is on vacationMay be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as production demands dictateEducationBachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be consideredRequirements/Qualifications5+ years of experience in quarry, aggregates, or mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory roleComprehensive knowledge of quarry equipment, production methods, and safety regulationsStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in quarry management software, MS Office Suite, and data reporting toolsRequires regular presence in outdoor and industrial environments - Ability to work with exposure to dust, noise, and weather conditionsQuarry Operations Management – Knowledge of quarrying processes, blasting, crushing, screening, and material handlingEquipment Operation & Maintenance – Proficiency with heavy equipment and knowledge of preventative maintenanceMine Planning & Scheduling – Ability to interpret quarry plans and align daily production with long-term strategiesSafety & Regulatory Compliance – Strong knowledge of MSHA/OSHA and environmental safety requirementsQuality Control & Material Specifications – Understanding of raw material testing and compliance standardsDrilling & Blasting Fundamentals – Knowledge of blast design, drilling techniques, and vibration controlProduction Reporting & Data Analysis – Skills in using quarry management systems and performance reportingEnvironmental Management – Knowledge of dust suppression, water management, and reclamation requirementsInventory & Stockpile Management – Ability to manage stockpiles and ensure proper material flowTeam Leadership & Training – Strong leadership and crew development skillsConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
