Electrical Engineer

Gencor Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design and execution of electrical systems for hot mix asphalt plant equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who takes ownership of projects, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings strong automation and controls expertise. MUST BE LOCAL WITHIN THE ORLANDO AREA OR WITHIN A 50 MILE RADIUS. NO RELOCATION.Key Responsibilities:• Design and integrate electrical systems and controls for asphalt plant operations• Develop schematics for digital and analog control systems• Create production Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed wiring diagrams using Draftsight• Select, specify, and test components including PLCs, HMIs, and temperature/limit controllers• Manage projects from design through production, ensuring timelines and milestones are met• Provide technical guidance to designers and drafters• Partner with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, sales, and customer service• Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirementsQualifications and Experience:• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field• 5+ years of electrical design experience• 2+ years of industrial automation or controls design experience• Hands-on experience with PLC programming• Experience with Rockwell Automation products preferred• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines• Effective communicator with strong organizational skills• Self-starter with a high level of accountability• Ability to travel as needed• Must be authorized to work in the United StatesAdditional Requirements:• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents• Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, and work in an industrial environmentGencor Industries is an equal opportunity employer and makes hiring decisions based solely on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
