Job Description:
The Senior Test Technician at Crestron will assist engineers, project leaders and managers with the creation of test solutions for Crestron products. Under supervision, this position will be responsible to assist with documentation development, parts procurement, tester/fixtures fabrication and assembly, deployment, and basic training for production. This position requires extensive electronics, computer and mechanical aptitude. In this role it is expected that the contributor assists engineers with minor design and code development/debug tasks, builds and support computerized test stations, troubleshoot test problems, procure instrumentation and equipment for production test systems as well as troubleshooting. Apply engineering theory and technical skills to support manufacturing engineering activities. Develops tools, implement designs and integrate machinery, equipment and computer technologies to ensure effective manufacturing processes. Demonstrated ability of being self-sufficient for troubleshooting and debug tasks. Responsibilities: Assist test engineers with the development of test systems Assist test engineers with tester debug, reduction of intermittent failures, and downtime of test equipment Under guidance of the test engineer, prepare and generate test documentation and procedures to be used by test and production Support manufacturing with troubleshooting of test equipment Assist deployment of test systems and provide training in new procedures to production testing staff Assist development or support maintenance programs/procedures associated with automated production test equipment Asset procurement and transfer Qualifications: Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology required BS in Electrical Engineering preferred 5-8 years Years experience in a technical or engineering support role Electronics and computer skills, including computer support and networking Proven problem resolution and technical decision-making skills including understanding of electromechanical documentation and fixtures Basic to intermediate knowledge of test instrumentation (power supplies, scopes, DMM, DAQ, etc) Basic understanding about computers, Windows OS and Linux OS Basic understanding of structured programming languages such as C, Phyton, Java, etc. and familiarity with C++, LabView, Test Stand a plus Ability to solder, run cabling or wiring, create wire harnesses and basic circuit boards
