Service Route Operator - Environmental Services City of O'Fallon, Missouri Rate of Pay: $24.74/hour Please watch this video: The City of O'Fallon is seeking a dedicated and safety‑focused Service Route Operator to join our Environmental Services Department. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our community receives efficient, reliable solid waste collection along established routes. What You'll Do * Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment * Operate refuse trucks to collect refuse, recyclables, yard waste, and bulk waste * Clean, deliver, and assemble refuse and recycling containers * Conduct preventive maintenance and routine cleaning of vehicles and equipment * Assist with snow removal operations * Provide excellent customer service and complete related duties as assigned What You'll Bring * Knowledge of solid waste collection methods and equipment * Understanding of departmental procedures and safety regulations * Ability to read maps and understand city geography * Skill in operating refuse trucks and troubleshooting basic vehicle issues * Ability to complete assigned routes efficiently and safely Minimum Qualifications * High school diploma or GED * One to two years of relevant experience or completion of an apprenticeship/internship * Valid Missouri Class B CDL with airbrakes and tanker endorsement Why Work for the City of O'Fallon?
