GENERAL SUMMARY: Schedule: Full Time Midnight Shifts - 7 on 7 off Location: Novi Assures the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders. About Henry Ford Providence Novi: Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital delivers specialty and 24/7 emergency care at a Level II Adult Trauma Center. Our hospital is a destination for specialty care including heart, cancer, and stroke care. Our OB-GYNs/maternity care teams deliver a personalized birthing experience and advanced neonatal care for sick babies. We offer a range of minimally invasive procedures using robotic-assisted technology, imaging, and a inpatient rehabilitation center, all on one campus. PRINCPLE DUTIES & RESPONSBILTIES: * Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems. Recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate. * Compounds and dispenses medications for accurate delivery to patients. * Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients. * Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care. * Oversees technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies. Assists with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students. May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs. * Provides patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required. * PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience preferred CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: * Pharmacist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. * Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
