As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the design and development of innovative products and systems. You'll lead technical enhancements for existing components and coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve impactful results. Roles and Responsibilities Lead the design of temperature sensors, permanent magnet alternators (PMAs), pumps, and other aerospace components, focusing on innovative engineering solutions to solve challenging problems. Utilize principles of mechanical and fluid dynamics to address stringent engine environment requirements, optimizing for weight, size, manufacturability, and cost. Conduct mechanical, thermal, and flow analyses, delivering clear substantiation for sensors, PMAs, and pumps. Engage in ongoing skill development in mechanical, thermal, and fluid design and analysis through training and practical experience. Plan and contribute to design assurance and qualification/certification testing. Effectively communicate analysis, trade studies, and design justifications to both internal and external review boards. Adhere to sound engineering principles and company standards across various product scopes. Develop advanced technical expertise, leveraging your experience to support strategy execution and comply with business and regulatory standards. Understand key business drivers deeply; leverage this understanding to enhance your contributions and recognize how your work integrates with broader team objectives. Exercise sound judgment in proposing solutions beyond established parameters, drawing from previous experiences and training to resolve straightforward tasks. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience. At least 3 years of engineering experience. U.S. citizenship status is required for this position. Desired Characteristics Master's degree or further training in mechanical, aerospace, or related fields. Experience in designing components for aerospace industries such as temperature sensors, PMAs, or pumps, showcasing creative engineering to address complex constraints. Proficiency in mechanical, thermal, and CFD tools including ANSYS, NX, or Creo, and familiarity with CAD/PDM and scripting languages for automation. Demonstrated creativity in concept development, trade studies, and design optimization related to weight, size, manufacturability, and cost. Hands-on experience with product qualification/certification testing, including result interpretation and design action closure. Knowledge of DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and cost-reduction in regulated industries while collaborating with suppliers for manufacturability. Working knowledge of materials and processes for engine environments, including high-temperature alloys, coatings, and fluid/thermal behavior in rotating equipment. Strong communication skills for presenting design substantiation, engaging in review board discussions, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The base pay range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000, influenced by factors such as candidate experience, education, and skill set. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. The position remains open until February 13, 2026.
