Job Description St. Olaf College Student Employee Job Description Job Title: Event Staff Classification: Student Work Position Name and Address of Employer: St. Olaf College, 1520 St. Olaf Ave, Northfield, MN 55057 Department Name: The Lion's Pause Unit Number: 92006 Length of Position: September - May Contact Person/Supervisor: Pause Co-Coordinators Description of the Position (Purpose of the Position): We are employed by the College to ensure the safety of the patrons, performers, and equipment in our space. Our job as employees of the Pause is to take ownership for what happens in the Pause. The Pause is a student center on campus that is run by students, for the St. Olaf community. Therefore, Pause Security enforces the rules of the space to ensure safety for all students and visitors to this venue. We assist any Public Safety Officers, EMTs or law enforcement staff as needed. Transferable Skills: Working as a member of a team Conflict management and problem solving Duties and Responsibilities: Enforce the rules of the Pause Count attendees at events and record the total Supervise patrons during events Set up & take down tables and chairs for events Set up & take down barricades for code 3 events Supervise equipment Attend weekly scheduling meetings Fill out incident reports as necessary Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) Experience working as part of a team Ability to have sensitive conversations with patrons All Security workers must sign to have their school record reviewed by the deans office before joining the security team Wage Range: $11.75-12.75
