About the roleIn this vital role, you'll help ensure the excellence and effectiveness of our Volunteer Services Department - supporting our mission to bring comfort, dignity, and compassion to those we serve. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the volunteer program, ensuring that all activities, records, and compliance standards meet organizational, state, and federal requirements. This role combines administrative precision with meaningful engagement - connecting caring volunteers with opportunities that make a lasting difference.What You'll Do Coordinate all aspects of the volunteer program - from onboarding to ongoing engagement. Maintain accurate volunteer records, training documentation, and compliance files. Ensure volunteer activities meet state, federal, and hospice standards. Recruit, train, and support volunteers across patient care, residence, and administrative areas. Plan recognition events, communications, and initiatives that celebrate our volunteers. Partner with clinical and social work teams to match volunteers with patient and family needs. Generate monthly and annual reports to support quality and compliance goals. RequirementsBachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience). A minimum of two (2) years of program coordination or administrative experience - healthcare or nonprofit preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with databases or tracking systems. Compassion, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality. Commitment to the mission and values of hospice care. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Some bending, kneeling, and reaching as needed.
