Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are looking for an Entry-Level Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Newark, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of medical claims and insurance payments. Responsibilities: - Prepare and submit medical claims accurately, utilizing both electronic and paper submission methods. - Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to ensure claims are processed correctly. - Monitor and resolve unpaid or denied claims, addressing issues promptly to secure payments. - Communicate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to resolve any billing discrepancies. - Maintain compliance with all relevant medical billing regulations and standards. - Keep accurate and organized records of patient billing activities, payments, and interactions. - Provide exceptional support to patients by addressing billing inquiries and concerns. - Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate documentation for billing processes. - Utilize billing software and electronic medical records systems effectively to streamline operations. Requirements - Previous experience in medical insurance processing is required. - Familiarity with medical billing procedures and terminology. - Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. - Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record systems. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment. - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing is preferred. - Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes is a plus.
