Business and Career Development Specialist Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with flexibility to meet program needs A Day in the Life of a Business and Career Development Specialist: As a full time Business and Career Development Specialist you be an important part in cultivating relationships with community businesses and developing customized Competitive Integrated Employment opportunities for individuals. Networks with businesses and community organizations to build relationships pertinent to Competitive Integrated Employment for individuals. Schedules and conducts Informational Interviews with community businesses. Works with individuals and Employment Specialists to develop Job Development Plans, resumes, visual resumes, cover letters, letters of introduction, etc. Develops and presents Employer Proposals that propose the employment of a particular individual to a specific employer. Provides employers with information regarding regulations, work incentive programs, and other topics related to persons with barriers to employment as needed. Coordinates transportation for individuals for job interviews and worksite visits. Pursues educational and training activities required for the position. Provides job development training to agency staff. May assist in the development of agency business ventures. Participates in community organizations and events as appropriate. Who We Are Looking For: Bachelor's Degree with at least one year's experience in job placement or vocational services. Experience in developing employment opportunities for persons with barriers to employment preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid New York State Driver's License that meets Agency Driver standards.
