Post Doctoral Research Associate

The Gatley Lab at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has an open position for a post-doctoral fellow to start in Summer 2026. The initial appointment is for 1 year, which can be extended based on mutual satisfaction. The candidate will be working infrared and T - Hz material characterization for additive manufacturing. The successful applicant will carry out numerical simulations of additively manufactured components as well as experimental work. The chosen candidate will have access to state-of-the-art T - Hz TDS equipment and will be given ample opportunity to grow as a researcher, e.g., by supervising students, collaborating with other experimentalists in the optics group at the Department of Physics at NJIT, attending conferences, and learning new skills (including python and Artificial Intelligence).
