Typical work assignment include:Conducting strategic analysis by correlating intelligence information and contextual data of cases.Extrapolating information from questionable or incomplete data, validating analytical conclusions, and integrating contributions from other analysts in order to prepare complete analytical products.Performing mobile device exploitation and search warrant analysis using Cellebrite and other digital forensic tools.Establishing and verifying relationships among all facts and evidence obtained to confirm authenticity of documents, corroborate witness statements and otherwise build proof necessary for successful litigation.Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.RequirementsHelpConditions of employmentYou must be a U.S. Citizen or NationalInitial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigationYou must be registered for Selective Service, if applicableIf selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.QualificationsTo be qualified at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing expert digital forensic service and support related to planning, collecting, examining, and processing of cellphones for criminal investigations; contributing to the development of new digital forensic techniques, methods and equipment in support of criminal investigations; gathering evidence through the use of digital forensic techniques and parsing data on cellphones using analytical software that will be admissible in a court; testifying in court regarding analysis, producing and disseminating comprehensive forensic examination reports to attorneys or law enforcement officials; and, developing and maintaining contacts in the forensic field, collaborating, planning, coordinating and keeping abreast of technological advances.Digital Forensic Certifications are preferred, such as: Cellebrite Certified Operator (CCO); Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst (CCPA); Cellebrite Advanced Smartphone Analysis (CASA); Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME) (Exam); AX100 Forensic Fundamentals; AX200 Magnet AXIOM Class & Examination; AX300 Advanced Mobile Forensics; AX302 Advanced iOS Examinations; Gray Key Basics; Gray Key Intermediate; Gray Key Advanced; and/or Gray Key Operator Certification.Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
