We provide coordinated care in eye health, vision rehabilitation, behavioral health, and related services. Our Behavioral Health Center seeks a full time Departmental Registrar who will support daily clinic operations by managing patient scheduling, verifying insurance and authorizations, maintaining electronic records, handling communications, processing payments, and providing front desk and administrative support to staff and patients. Position Summary: Obtains authorizations/referrals from healthcare insurance companies. Checks eligibility of patients in Medicaid, Medicare, CBVH, and commercial insurance companies. Enters healthcare insurance information, patient demographics, and other information in electronic health record and billing systems (including Welligent and eClinicalWorks or successor systems), and scans in documents as required. Schedules appointments for patients in Electronic Health Record systems. Follows up with patients who miss appointments to reschedule. Prepares attendance sheets, daily statistics, timesheets, invoices, and transportation requests for clients. Collects patient fees via cash and credit card systems. Answers and screens incoming calls via call center, relays telephone calls and email messages. Provides information about Lighthouse Guild to patients, prospective patients and referral sources according to established policies. Welcomes patients and family members as they arrive for appointments and lets providers know when they arrive. Assists with the Reception area as required. Acts as backup and works collaboratively with other administrative support staff working DTC and BH programs. Assists in setting up office systems. May order office supplies as assigned. Assists providers with translation needs as requested. Adheres to established agency, and departmental policies and procedures. Performs clinic clerical support functions as assigned, including generating correspondence to referring physicians and preparing other documents, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisors. Qualifications: High school diploma, AA degree preferred. Two to three years of administrative experience in the healthcare industry. Experience with Medicaid/Medicare/3 rd Party eligibility and billing processes. Computer knowledge, keyboard skills and familiarity with electronic record and billing systems. Word, Excel & Internet knowledge. Good organizational, interpersonal, verbal, written, and telephone skills. Ability to show empathy to clients receiving services. Call center experience is a plus. Bilingual Spanish required. We offer a very competitive salary and benefit package.
