Retail Staff Pharmacist - New York, New York

A leading specialty pharmacy dedicated to providing rare and orphan drugs for patients with complex medical conditions is seeking two experienced Specialty Pharmacists for a contract opportunity in the Bronx, NY. This role involves working closely with patients and healthcare providers to ensure timely access and adherence to life-changing therapies that often require navigating complex approval, payment, and support programs. The position offers a Monday through Friday day shift schedule, ideal for pharmacists who have prior experience in a designated specialty pharmacy setting, particularly in specialty retail or specialty mail order pharmacy. Candidates must possess strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills as the role demands high-touch engagement with both patients and providers. Key Responsibilities: Manage dispensing and clinical review of rare and orphan drugs within a specialty pharmacy environment Facilitate patient and provider communication to support drug approvals, payment assistance, grants, rebates, and other financial programs Navigate intricate processes surrounding specialty drug use and ensure compliance with pharmacy policies Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system to manage prescriptions and pharmacy operations Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Qualifications: Active, clear, and good standing pharmacist license from Arizona (AZ) Demonstrated experience working specifically in a designated specialty pharmacy (retail or mail order) Proven expertise with specialty drugs and managing complex patient support programs Excellent communication and clinical skills tailored to high-level patient/provider interactions Resume must detail specialty pharmacy experience including specific disease states managed Provide at least one specialty pharmacy reference This contract role is approximately 13 weeks with potential contract-to-hire conversion.
