Every year, Sanctuary empowers thousands of adults and children to move from fear and abuse to safety and stability, transforming lives through a comprehensive range of services. We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies: direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy. Our services are available in 12 locations throughout New York City.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Clinician will provide ongoing and trauma-informed comprehensive counseling services to children and families impacted by domestic violence, trafficking, and/or other forms of gender violence. Assist clients to move toward managing their trauma, understanding the impact of domestic violence on their lives and that of their children; help them to reach economic stability through case management, advocacy, and referral, if necessary, to organizations providing such services. Opportunity to work in supportive, team-oriented environments in lower Manhattan.RESPONSIBILITIESConducts evidence-based assessments and psycho-social interviews for families affected by the experience of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence.Provides comprehensive trauma-informed individual/group counseling services with a trauma and strengths-based perspective to help clients process, cope, and heal from experiences of gender-based violence.Provides safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, and referrals to other related services as needed.Provides affidavits and testimony for immigration and other legal purposes.Conducts trauma-related and domestic violence outreach and training to community organizations and institutions, including those serving the immigrant communities.Demonstrate competence in evidence-based modalities such as CPP (Child Parent Psychotherapy) and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy);Facilitate appropriate clinical groups for clients, including, but not limited to, school-age groups, teen support groups and parenting skills groups;Participate in team and agency meetings, individual supervisory meetings, case conferences and other meetings connected to the Family Safe project such as the weekly FVPSA meeting;Supervise at least one intern;As a senior clinician, provide support to other clinicians as needed;Maintains accurate case records and utilizes internal database systems to track direct services to clients and outreach events;Performs other duties as requested by supervisor. Other duties as requested by supervisor;Requirements LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or similar degree.
