This is a full-time afternoon and evening position for children with excellent energy who genuinely enjoy their time with caregivers. This role is perfect for someone who loves action, adventure, and authentic connection with kids-someone who can get down and dirty with building-block towers, organize spontaneous adventures, and keep up with the active, spirited energy. The nanny will be part of a collaborative household with a second caregiver handling mornings and weekend coverage, giving plenty of flexibility and support to truly thrive in this position. These busy, West Village dwellers who both run their own companies with a combination of work from home and out the home. They travel for work, love adventure, and deeply value flexibility and reliability from their caregivers. The household is warm, supportive, and genuinely fun-it's busy and lived-in, not sterile. The nanny will be working collaboratively with a second full-time caregiver who handles mornings, weekends, and cooking/household management-this isn't an isolated role. The family is actively seeking someone with good energy: confident, playful, willing to get messy, and able to keep up with spirited, adventurous kids. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead afternoon and evening care, including bedtime routines (7-7:30 PM) Engage in active play, adventures, and age-appropriate activities Communicate regularly with parents via photos, updates, and FaceTime Maintain basic household organization (dishes, light tidying during the day) Adapt flexibly to schedule adjustments and occasional last-minute changes Support with school pickups and transitions to activities (located in the West Village) Occasional travel with the family (see requirements below) SCHEDULE & HOURS Approximately 40 hours per week with the following structure: Primary hours: 12:00 PM - 7:30 PM (Monday-Friday, starting June) One day per week: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM to help with mornings Additional mornings covered by the existing caregiver Flexibility for occasional schedule adjustments Note: Schedule may vary before June when children are in different programs. IDEAL CANDIDATE Minimum 3+ years of nanny/childcare experience (references required) Able to care for two children at one time and have experience with toddler and school-age children. Tech-savvy and comfortable with technology: Can FaceTime, share photos, use group chats, and navigate apps easily Young at heart with good energy and a positive attitude Confident with active, energetic kids and able to engage in spirited, physical play Reliable and flexible-able to adapt to last-minute changes while maintaining consistency Clean and organized by nature Patient, calm, and confident managing bedtime routines Speaks clearly and can engage kids in conversation and play Comfortable with international travel (1-2 times per year, primarily over winter holidays to warm destinations; not mandatory for every trip) Valid passport or willingness to obtain one Ability to travel with the family during summer and holiday periods References will be checked thoroughly COMPENSATION Competitive salary: $35-40/hour based on experience Health insurance stipend MetroCard/transportation support 2 weeks paid vacation annually Paid sick days Clear work agreement outlining expectations and benefits A collaborative household with strong backup support A fun, engaged family who genuinely values their caregivers Interested candidates should be prepared to discuss: Experience with active, energetic children References from previous families Comfort level with technology and communication Availability to start (flexible timeline; earliest start is approximately one month from now) Travel availability and passport status Modern Minders is an equal opportunity employer.
