Join our team as a Project Manager - Lead Climate Resilience InitiativesOur client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to spearhead vital climate hazard data projects within the Climate Resiliency team. This long-term contract role (3 years - work week is 37.5 hours) offers an exciting opportunity to develop innovative tools, oversee floodplain mapping, and enhance climate data usability to promote smart, sustainable policies across New York State and the surrounding regions. Client would prefer someone in or near NYC as that is where their office is located. Please no third parties must be on our W2 If you are passionate about climate resilience, possess strong technical expertise, and thrive in collaborative environments, this position is perfect for you.As a Project Manager, you will be pivotal in coordinating contractor activities related to floodplain mapping, working closely with Client teams and government agencies such as DEC. Your leadership will ensure the successful development of new internal tools, improve climate hazard data interpretation, and support policy advisement to maximize data utility for climate resilience strategies.Your daily responsibilities will include managing contracts, interfacing with environmental conservation teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and overseeing the implementation of climate hazard modeling approaches. You will leverage tools such as ArcGIS, Salesforce, SharePoint, Tableau, and Office365 to support this work, while fostering a collaborative, agile environment focused on delivering impactful data products and services.Required Skills:Bachelor's degree in environmental science, risk management, computer science, data science, or similar3-6 years of relevant experience, particularly with climate hazard datasetsKnowledge of floodplain modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modelingExperience with FEMA map products and floodplain managementProficiency with geospatial tools like ArcGIS Pro and ESRI EnterpriseStrong contract management experienceAbility to develop and test data products, and perform user researchExcellent communication skills to engage multiple stakeholdersFamiliarity with Agile workflows and product development best practicesData analysis skillsTechnical understanding of climate hazard data (flood, extreme heat, wind, drought)Familiarity with coding in Python (a plus)Nice to Have Skills:Experience in developing climate risk assessment platformsCoding and scripting expertiseKnowledge of floodplain modeling approachesExperience with agenda-setting or policy advisement in climate resilienceEducation and Experience:A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred3-6 years of related project management experience, especially in environmental or climate data projectsThis is an excellent opportunity to impact climate resilience initiatives while working with a dedicated team committed to innovation and sustainability.TVT is an Information Technology (IT) professional business leader providing IT services to the public sector.
