We are continuing to invest in our Private Equity P&C practice and are seeking an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter to join our team in New York City. This is a high-impact role for an experienced underwriter who thrives in a market-facing environment and is passionate about delivering thoughtful, end-to-end risk solutions. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and customer advocate, partnering closely with brokers and clients to understand unique exposures and deliver tailored insurance solutions that support long-term profitability and customer satisfaction. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based on the candidate’s experience, skill set, and alignment with the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications: Underwriting Specialist: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.ORHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing areaORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaANDKnowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelinesKnowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal businessExperience with Microsoft Office OR Executive Underwriter: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.ORHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing areaORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areANDKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeExperience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s DegreeEstablished relationships with Private Equity broker partnersStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The combined salary range for this position is $94,800.00 - $205,100.00. The proposed salary range for the Underwriting Specialist is $94,800.00 - $155,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Executive Underwriter is $125,300.00 - $205,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
