As the Maison continues to expand across key luxury markets, it remains focused on delivering exceptional service, meaningful client relationships, and a distinctly modern luxury experience.Position OverviewThe Boutique Assistant Director is a senior leadership role responsible for supporting boutique performance, client development, and operational excellence in one of the world's most competitive luxury retail markets. Serving as the second-in-command to the Boutique Director, this individual helps lead the team, drive business results, and uphold the standards of the Maison. This role is ideal for a polished luxury retail leader with a strong record of working with high-net-worth and international clientele, developing long-term relationships, and leading in a high-touch environment. The ideal candidate combines commercial strength, operational discipline, and strong personal presence.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with the Boutique Director to execute the boutique's commercial strategy, service standards, and business goalsDrive sales performance through floor leadership, team coaching, and client developmentBuild and maintain strong relationships with high-value clients, including collectors, international clientele, and VIP customersLead private appointments, bespoke selling opportunities, and exclusive client eventsUse CRM tools strategically to support retention, re-engagement, and long-term client growthSupport daily boutique operations, including opening and closing oversight, merchandising standards, and service executionPartner with the leadership team to maintain accuracy and discipline across inventory, stock handling, and operational proceduresCoach and develop Client Advisors and senior team members to strengthen performance and accountabilityStep in for the Boutique Director when needed to ensure continuity in leadership and executionMaintain strong product knowledge, brand storytelling, and awareness of the New York luxury marketRepresent Abel Richard with professionalism, discretion, and credibility in all client and team interactionsRequired QualificationsMinimum 7 years of experience in high-luxury or ultra-luxury retailMinimum 3 years of leadership experience in a boutique, flagship, or other high-touch luxury environmentProven success serving high-net-worth and international clienteleDemonstrated ability to drive sales through clienteling, repeat business, and relationship developmentExperience leading a team in a service-focused environment with high standards for presentation and executionStrong commercial judgment and operational awarenessExcellent communication, follow-up, and interpersonal skillsStrong professional presence, discretion, and emotional intelligenceExperience with CRM tools, client outreach strategy, and luxury event supportAvailability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, evenings, and peak business periodsPreferred QualificationsExperience in luxury handbags, fine accessories, fine jewelry, watches, or other true luxury categoriesExperience supporting top-tier clientele in New York City or another major luxury marketMultilingual fluency, especially Spanish, Portuguese, French, or ArabicExperience with private clients, bespoke services, or appointment-based sellingPrior experience as an Assistant Director, Senior Manager, Floor Manager, or equivalent senior boutique leadership roleWhat Success Looks LikeStrong contribution to boutique sales growth and client retentionConsistent leadership, accountability, and service executionGrowth in repeat business, private appointments, and CRM-driven outreachStrong operational discipline and brand presentationA high-performing team culture grounded in professionalism and hospitalityWhy Join Abel RichardAt Abel Richard, you are not simply helping manage a boutique.
