Assistant CAD Jewelry Designer Our client is a renowned global leader in direct selling cosmetics and costume jewelry, is actively searching for an an Assistant CAD Jewelry Designer located in its design center in New York City. You will play a crucial role in supporting the design and development of jewelry pieces using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about jewelry design, with a strong foundation in CAD software and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities CAD Design Creation: Assist in creating detailed CAD designs for jewelry pieces based on design briefs and sketches provided by senior designers. Use CAD software (such as Rhino, Matrix, or similar) to translate concepts into precise 3D models. Ensure designs meet technical and aesthetic requirements, incorporating feedback from senior designers and clients. Design Modification and Iteration: Make adjustments to CAD models based on feedback, ensuring designs are refined and accurate. Collaborate closely with senior designers to iterate on designs until final approval. Technical Documentation: Generate technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing, including measurements, materials, and production methods. Prepare renderings and presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders. Research and Development: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to contribute innovative ideas to the design team. Assist in sourcing materials and components necessary for prototypes and production. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with senior designers, jewelers, and other team members to ensure seamless execution of designs from concept to production. Provide administrative support as needed, such as organizing design files, maintaining libraries of materials, and assisting in project coordination. Bachelor's degree in Jewelry Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or related field preferred. Proficiency in CAD software (Rhino, Matrix, etc.) and understanding of jewelry design principles. Additional Skills (Preferred) Experience with rendering software (KeyShot, V-Ray, etc.) for creating realistic visualizations. Knowledge of gemology and familiarity with different gemstones and precious metals. Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on design feasibility.
