Role DescriptionLand Fund XVIII is a private real estate ownership and management company seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to oversee the financial reporting and accounting functions for a designated real estate portfolio. This full-time, on-site position in New York, NY is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting while working closely with property management to support operational effectiveness and informed decision-making.The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a deadline-driven environment, with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned propertiesManage property-level budgets and forecasts in partnership with property managementEnsure adherence to company accounting policies, procedures, and reporting standardsTrack and meet all reporting deadlinesPrepare and review monthly accruals, straight-line rent calculations, and journal entriesPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variancesReview delinquency reports and coordinate with property management on material issuesInterpret lease terms and collaborate with lease administrationMonitor cash balances, process essential payments, and prepare funding requestsAssist with annual budget preparation and upload approved budgets into accounting systemsPrepare monthly bank reconciliationsAnalyze financial and operational data and respond to ownership and management inquiriesPrepare personal property tax filings and monitor sales and use tax complianceSupport audits and assist with special projects as assignedQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting required2-3 years of accounting experience; multifamily real estate experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and core accounting processesDemonstrated experience preparing financial statements and journal entriesExcellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaborate across teamsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with MRI or Yardi preferredPay$80,000 - $90,000 per year
