Candidates should be aware that the hurricane season will run from June 1 to November 30, but storms can occur outside of this window. Upon accepting the assignment, the unit manager may assign candidates to an Emergency Team. There is an expectation to remain at the facility until after the storm passes or to be part of a relief team. Specific details regarding pay will be provided for each storm, as impacts may vary. Candidates should not apply during the hurricane window if they are not comfortable with these conditions. Experience is required in Emergency Department, inpatient, outpatient, and clinics within walking distance. Additionally, candidates are expected to float between various departments. References from two managers or supervisors will be necessary for clearance to start the contract. Candidates must apply for licensure within 72 hours of signing. Please be aware that the facility does not accept local travelers. Candidates must live over 65 miles away from the facility. Travel experience is required. Modules will be completed during orientation and factored into the orientation hours. Modules are billable and recorded by the facility.
