This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Contact , the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Major Duties: * Provide care to approximately 12-20 outpatients daily in an outpatient setting, including diagnosis, care and treatment, as well as consultations to other services when requested. * Responsible for all facets of acute patient care. * Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up, and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to veterans, in the primary care team setting. * Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to accomplish patient, service, and medical center goals, promoting and embracing the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of care, utilizing Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence (ICARE) values throughout the clinic. * Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings to establish a diagnosis and initiate appropriate response to emergency health problems. * Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment, and/or referral timely. * Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations to other clinical services. * Initiate, evaluate, and change orders for medications, * Follow performance measure guidelines, including completion of clinical reminders; access and timeliness standards; prescription order entry, National VA formulary Requirements, and customer service standards. * Assists in completing quality management reviews and participates in Peer review process and completes physician's reviews on time. * Will assist in completing quality management reviews. * Must be computer literate with computer skills to access and input electronic medical documentation. * Practice and maintain ethical standards and sustain a work environment that is harmonious and customer service oriented. * Responsible for the successful achievement of applicable Performance Measure and Monitors his/her areas of responsibility.
