Job DescriptionAramark is hiring an HVAC Maintenance Technician to support 24/7 facilities and Central Plant operations at Meharry Medical College. This position is responsible for the operation, monitoring, repair, maintenance, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, with additional responsibility for monitoring high-pressure steam boilers and Central Plant systems during assigned shifts.This role is ideal for a technician with EPA refrigerant certification, hands-on HVAC experience, and the flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule in a mission-critical higher education and healthcare environment. Training will be provided for boiler and Central Plant monitoring responsibilities.Job ResponsibilitiesOperate, monitor, inspect, test, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systemsService systems supporting:Air conditioning and heatingCooling water systemsRefrigeration and ventilationPerform scheduled preventive maintenance and document completed workCalibrate, repair, and maintain pneumatic control systemsInspect, clean, service, and replace filters in air handling and heating unitsClean and maintain ductwork, grills, shaftways, and exhaust systemsTroubleshoot HVAC system issues and coordinate repairs with other skilled tradesWhen scheduled, serve as Boiler Attendant, monitoring and documenting safe boiler operations in accordance with the Systems Operation ManualRespond to emergency repair and maintenance situationsMaintain accurate records, logs, and work order documentationTrack and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and materialsFollow all OSHA, state, federal, and Aramark safety policiesMaintain a professional, customer-focused attitude with faculty, staff, students, and coworkersAt Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. RequiredPrevious HVAC maintenance experience requiredAbility to troubleshoot HVAC systems independentlyWillingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to follow safety procedures due to physical and environmental risksStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a facilities teamThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
