The position involves providing care in the field of Internal Medicine with a focus on Gastroenterology. The physician will be expected to handle 12 patient encounters per shift. There will be a requirement for 7-10 days of call per month. The facility operates at a trauma level of 3. Fellowship training in Gastroenterology is required. Credentialing timeframe is estimated to be between 60-90 days. The following skills are preferred but not mandatory: - ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) diagnostic and therapeutic - Sigmoidoscopy - Flexible endoscopy - Rigid endoscopy - Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube Esophageal dilatation/manometry and its interpretation are not required. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and liver biopsy are also not required. The physician should be skilled in the essential procedures listed.
