This role is critical to improving maintenance execution, backlog health, and overall asset reliability while supporting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives. The Maintenance Planner will partner closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and other site stakeholders to ensure maintenance work is properly planned, prioritized, and executed. This role offers significant opportunity to help mature and improve the plant’s maintenance planning function through initiative, process discipline, and collaboration.What You Will DoManage and process incoming maintenance work order requests, ensuring proper information, approvals, and prioritization.Plan and coordinate maintenance work by defining job steps, required parts, tooling, contractor needs, and skilled labor resources.Manage and actively maintain the maintenance work order backlog to ensure it remains accurate, prioritized, and within target thresholds.Schedule maintenance technicians to ensure a full day of productive work through a coordinated weekly schedule.Conduct and participate in weekly maintenance scheduling meetings to align priorities and coordinate equipment access.Requisition and coordinate parts, tools, equipment, and contractors needed to complete work efficiently.Utilize Asset Essentials (CMMS) to manage work orders, attach materials, schedule labor, and complete follow-up actions.Improve maintenance workflow productivity and quality by identifying and eliminating delays through proactive planning.Develop and maintain historical maintenance records and standard plans for repetitive work.Generate KPIs and reports related to backlog health, work order aging, schedule compliance, and maintenance performance.Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.Serve as a liaison between Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and other departments.Assist Skilled Trades Leadership in developing and applying time standards for non-repetitive maintenance work.Prepare and analyze maintenance reports including spend, downtime, and planned vs. emergency maintenance.Review drawings, schematics, and exploded views to determine spare parts and planning requirements.Support cross-training and coordination between planning and scheduling functions.What You HaveHigh School Diploma or GED required.Advanced degree in a skilled trade–related field or 5+ years of equivalent maintenance experience, or a combination of both.Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience, with exposure to preventive and corrective maintenance.Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Maintenance Planner or similar planning role preferred.Advanced Maintenance Technician–level proficiency preferred.Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems; Asset Essentials experience is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across departments.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, changing work environment.Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and willingness to improve processes.
