Job Description:
Position Overview We are seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Ohio with a current NP certification to provide advanced patient care services. The NP will create and implement patient care plans, perform advanced nursing duties, and provide clinical oversight to other healthcare staff. This role includes routine and acute care management, chronic disease monitoring, and preventive care interventions. Schedule: 16-24 hours per week (flexible 1st shift) Option to work full-time by splitting hours between two sites if desired Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Duties: Monitor patient progress and intervene in the course of chronic illnesses Conduct routine physical exams to evaluate chronic conditions and diagnose new issues Prescribe medications and administer treatments for acute and chronic conditions Complete discharge planning and follow-up care for patients with medical or chronic care needs Perform minor surgical procedures within scope of training and competency Evaluate necessity for specialty referrals and review consult recommendations Order and interpret lab, imaging, and other diagnostic tests Administer vaccinations and inoculations Documentation & Records Management: Maintain accurate and complete medical records according to agency policies and professional standards Document assessments, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-up parameters Collaborate with the supervising physician or medical director for clinical quality oversight Leadership & Staff Collaboration: Provide clinical direction and guidance to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, phlebotomists, and other caregivers Serve as a resource for patients and families regarding health maintenance, promotion, and risk factors Professional Development & Participation: Attend professional meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives as required Participate in committees and in-service training relevant to NP role Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills Knowledge of advanced nursing procedures and patient care standards Proficiency in medical equipment (e.g., stethoscope, BP cuff, EKG, otoscope, surgical instruments) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state/federal nursing laws Ability to document care thoroughly and maintain confidentiality Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams Minimum Qualifications Active Ohio RN license and NP certification Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Ohio certificate of authority to practice as an advanced practice nurse Ohio prescriptive authority in accordance with ORC 4723 Required Documents / Credentials: Current Ohio RN or NP License Board Certification (ANCC or equivalent) Certificate of Authority / Certificate to Prescribe (as required by Ohio Board of Nursing) CPR / BLS Certification (Healthcare Professional level) Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification COVID-19 Vaccination Card or Exemption Letter
