Salary Range: $4,500 per 3-credit course Duration: Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters Brief Description of Duties: SUNY Morrisville seeks candidates for adjunct faculty to teach Residential Construction courses for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 academic semesters. Courses Available and Descriptions:RESC 201. Estimating And Planning. (3 Credits) Lecture - Monday/Wednesday 10:00 - 10:50AM Lab - Thursday 9:00AM - 12:00PM The estimating consideration involved with the cost of doing business, the control of those costs, and the professional presentation of the final estimate to the prospective customer. Workbook Instruction in the use of construction calculators included in course work. The assessment portion of the class directs the student's attention toward a rational evaluation of the overall quality of a product of building material and it's propriety of use in a given circumstance. Guest lecturers from the industry and field trips to places of business enhance the student's under-standing as to the variety of opportunities within the home- building industry. Prerequisite: RESC 160 3 credits (2 lecture hours, 2 laboratory hours), fall semester WOOD 101. Wood Products and Processes. (3 Credits) Lecture - Tuesday/Thursday 1:00 - 1:50PM Lab - Monday/Tuesday 3:00 - 4:50 PM An introduction to the furniture/lumber industry and its products, including commercial woods, furniture and cabinets, layout, hardware and assembly, as well as safety and nomenclature of machines are topics in this course. Laboratory includes introduction to common woodworking equipment and construction of small furniture project. This course has an additional lab fee. 3 credits (2 lecture hours, 2 laboratory hours), fall semester Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Associates of Applied Science or AOS in a relevant field: construction management, residential construction or related field. 3+ years' experience in a Construction related field. OSHA 10 Certification Ability to work some weekends and off-campus locations as needed Moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Working outside during all seasons Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Field.
