THE WORK - Receive sketches, descriptions (verbal or written), or conceptual CAD input and design complete mechanical equipment and mechanical features of electronic equipment for end-item projects. Participate in design for proposals, 3-D printing, IRAD, prototypes, or engineering development. Prepare calculations, layouts, details, and assembliesincluding 3-D models, 2-D drawings, parts lists, and bills of materialto ensure designs meet ASME drafting, modeling, and drawing requirements and adhere to company standards for simplicity, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Sign off drawings as the party responsible for drafting accuracy and review the work of other drafting personnel. Operate computer-aided design tools as required.
