Job Title: Assembly TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a meticulous Assembly Technician to join our production team. The successful candidate will assist in building metal frames of large switchboards and perform basic wire harness assembly. Starting at a workbench with a tape measure and blueprint, you will utilize hand tools to build custom switchboards according to customer requests, ensuring quality in a repetitive assembly process.Responsibilities Assist in building metal frames of large switchboards. Perform full assembly and basic wire harness assembly on units. Follow blueprints to measure parts and use hand tools for assembly. Ensure quality and precision in repetitive assembly tasks. Assemble wire harnesses using simple schematics and mount them on units. Maintain safety standards and use required personal protective equipment. Essential Skills High attention to detail. Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment or solid mechanical aptitude. Proven ability to read a tape measure and use a power drill. Ability to lift 50-70 lbs as needed. Willingness to work at heights using a small step ladder. Experience in reading blueprints preferred. Must have own steel or composite toe shoes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with small parts assembly and wiring while reading a blueprint. Experience in a mechanic setting or with side jobs demonstrating mechanical aptitude. The work environment is bright, clean, and quiet, with allowances for headphones and casual attire like jeans and sweatshirts. This is a self-motivated role where you will not be constantly supervised after training. Personal protective equipment including steel/composite toes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection in some areas is required.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monticello, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
