Job Description:
Overview:The Project Construction Manager is onsite daily and reports to the Project Engineering Manager. This position is intended to add additional coverage to the existing Project Construction Manager as the project ramps up and onsite Contractor presence has expanded. The work week is anticipated at an average 50 hours per week.Monitoring the Work:Oversee all day-to-day project activities in their area of responsibility.Plans for and orchestrates: Equipment laydown and staging Contractor modular office space Contractor parking Major equipment moves and sequencingParticipate in reliable process design, help to get the details rightOrganize and develop the project team - development of agendas, project updates and meeting minutesConduct weekly contractor meeting to ensure that communications are adequate to keep the project organization informed and involved.Initiate and work with Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager on any and all project related Management of Change Requests and Notice of Changes.Conduct contractor vendor site bid meeting with contractors for each bid. Review bid documents with contractor candidates. Review bids and work with project manager, engineering manager, procurement manager, and project team for vendor selection and purchase order issuance.Ensure all safety and environmental metrics are implemented to Weyerhaeuser, local, state, and federal standards.Manage the project receiving and work with project accounting to ensure invoices are paid in time.Manage the project quality daily. Work with the Project Engineering Manager to bring in engineering inspectors by discipline at appropriate times.Primary contact for contractors, on-site consultants, on-site suppliers, on-site vendors and start up people.Communicate all external contacts with the Project Manager.Develop and manage the project post start up punch listPerforms role of safety manager during times of light construction or when safety manager is unavailableWrite and approve field purchase requisitions for contract labor including field start up support that is not included with equipment purchase. Work with procurement manager on PO issuance.Validate labor or field material invoices for payment.Address specific risks associated with projectsConstruction communicationSchedule monitoring, adherence, and sharingManagement of changeCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSHourly contract rate range of $60.00 to $70.00 based on experience and qualifications, as well as geographical market and benefits considerations.Your well-being is important to Wimmer Solutions.
