We carry forward the values of our founder, Ray Jenkins: giving back, creating opportunities, and changing the world one chip at a time.A Day in the Life of a Material HandlerAs a Material Handler, you play a critical role in keeping production running efficiently and safely. Each shift, you'll ensure that raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods are in the right place at the right time. Your work directly supports food safety, product quality, and on-time production.A typical day may include:Delivering raw materials and packaging supplies to production linesStaging finished product for warehouse storage or shipmentLoading and unloading trucks in a safe and organized mannerTracking inventory movement using labels, logs, or scanning systemsInspecting incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy and qualitySupporting production line changeovers by supplying correct materialsMaintaining clean, organized storage and staging areasKey Responsibilities Material Handling & InventoryMove raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to designated production areasTransport finished goods to warehouse storage locations or shipping docksAccurately complete inventory counts, labels, and documentationRotate materials and finished goods using FIFO (First In, First Out) principlesEnsure inventory is properly identified, labeled, and storedFood Safety & QualityInspect materials for damage, contamination, or defects prior to useFollow allergen control and food safety procedures when handling ingredientsMaintain accurate lot codes and documentation for product traceabilityEnsure materials remain sealed, covered, and stored according to GMP standardsProduction SupportSupply production lines with required ingredients and packaging in a timely mannerRemove excess materials, scrap, and waste to maintain safe work areasAssist with line changeovers to reduce downtime and support production efficiencySafety & ComplianceSafely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment(training and certification provided if needed)Follow all PPE, safety, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirementsKeep warehouse, dock, and staging areas clean and hazard-freeReport damaged materials, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues immediatelyTeamwork & CommunicationWork closely with warehouse, production, and quality teamsCommunicate material needs, shortages, or delays promptlySupport coworkers during high-volume production periodsMaintain a positive, reliable, and team-focused attitudeWhat We're Looking ForHigh School Diploma or GED preferredPrevious experience in food manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling strongly preferredForklift and/or pallet jack experience a plus (certification provided if needed)Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructionsReliable attendance and strong work ethicWillingness to work overtime and weekends as neededPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift 40+ lbs. regularly and 50+ lbs. occasionally (with assistance)Standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting throughout the shiftFrequent pushing, pulling, and pallet movementAbility to work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled food manufacturing environmentPerks of Joining Uncle Ray's5-day / 8-hour workweek (overtime and weekends as needed)Paid breaksTiered wage increases at 90 daysEmployee product discountsOnsite micro-market (snacks, meals, beverages, and more)Cafeteria-style benefits packageOpportunities for internal promotion and growthClean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environmentJob Type: Full-timePay: $15.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceExperience:Warehouse: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: In person
