Job Description:
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a hospital CVOR/vascular-focused surgery unit at a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, with strong vascular and multi-specialty OR skills required.Job Details• Hospital surgical unit with 15 OR beds serving a broad multi-specialty patient population including vascular, trauma, neuro, general, ENT, ortho spine, GYN, urology, robotics, plastics, and more,• Position is primarily focused on vascular services, including open vascular and endovascular cases,• Minimal pediatric cases, typically orthopedic,• Patient ratio is 1:1,• Cerner EMR in use,• Equipment includes Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors,• Robotic platforms in use include Mazor and DaVinci XI,• No floating required,• Shift times vary: 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM, 12:30 PM-11:00 PM, and 6:30 AM-7:00 PM,• Schedule is determined by department needs,• Weekend call rotation required; on-call schedule is one day per week (3:00 PM-7:00 AM) and one weekend per month (Friday 3:00 PM-Monday 7:00 AM) for all service lines except Open Heart,• Holiday coverage is expected during the contract,Job Requirements• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience required,• Strong experience in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, vascular (including endovascular), general, ENT, ortho spine, GYN, urology, robotics, plastics, and breast cases required,• Competency in vascular procedures including AAA, carotids, AVG, AVF, fem-fem bypass, and aorta bi-fem required for this vascular-focused role,• Endovascular experience preferred,• Strong robotics experience preferred (Mazor and DaVinci XI),• BLS certification required,• Surgical technology certification preferred but not required,• AL state license required if applicable,• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible,• Former permanent staff must have a 6-month gap before being considered as a traveler,Additional Information• First-time travelers will be considered with at least 2 years of experience,• Orientation is 2 weeks on day shift; buddy call is expected during orientation period,• Support staff on the unit includes an ORA, desk assistant, some first assistants, a charge nurse, and team leaders for each service line,• Green scrubs are required and will be provided,• An interview with the manager is required for this position,• Time off requests must be approved by the manager,• Candidates must provide 1 reference from a charge nurse or above within the past 12 months, a copy of certifications, and date of birth (day and month) for consideration
