Summary: The Seasonal Team Lead Field Technician is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily field operations during the peak farming season. This role ensures that seasonal technicians perform duties effectively and safely while supporting crop cultivation, irrigation, and harvest activities. The Team Lead works closely with farm leadership to implement crop plans, troubleshoot field issues, and maintain a productive and safe work environment. Essential Functions: • Oversee and organize daily work assignments for seasonal field technicians • Train seasonal staff on proper techniques and safety protocols • Support implementation of crop plans and schedule adjustments • Monitor task completion and quality standards across assigned teams • Log daily activity in each field with shared digital document • Assist in operating and maintaining farm tools, irrigation systems, and small equipment • Lead safety briefings and serve as first point of contact for issue escalation • Communicate effectively with farm supervisors regarding progress and concerns • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas • Oversee maintenance of Farm equipment including tractors, planters, implements, mowers etc. Skills & Qualifications: • Leadership and team coordination experience • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities • Ability to operate agricultural equipment and tools • Basic knowledge of irrigation, planting, and harvesting procedures • Ability to work in variable weather conditions for extended periods Required Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent • At least 1 year of agricultural or outdoor fieldwork experience • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred • A combination of education and experience may be considered Preferred Education and Experience: • 2+ years of agricultural experience, including team leadership • Working knowledge of crop production cycles and irrigation systems • Experience training or mentoring seasonal workers Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises 5 seasonal workers as well as 1-2 full time employees during the active growing season. Work Environment: This job operates in an agricultural setting. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to machinery. Exposure to various outdoor elements such as dust, animals, and plants is common. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is typically based on seasonal demands and may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention. Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee's manager. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move items up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
