In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, administrators, and ancillary staff to oversee trauma program operations, maintain compliance with state and national trauma standards, and drive initiatives that enhance patient outcomes. You will manage trauma registry data, support continuous quality improvement, and provide essential education and training programs for healthcare professionals at all stages of trauma care. Your leadership will have a direct impact on clinical excellence, patient safety, and the advancement of trauma services within the hospital and the broader community. This role requires not only advanced clinical expertise in emergency or critical care but also strong administrative and leadership skills to manage budgets, staffing, and strategic planning. Job specificationCandidate requirementsJob specification• Assist in promoting and maintaining optimal trauma care standards across the facility. • Demonstrate professional competency in the nursing process while planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating trauma care for critically injured patients. • Manage and maintain the trauma registry and ensure timely completion of Quality Improvement (QI) reports. • Develop, implement, and oversee trauma-related educational programs for hospital personnel, covering all phases of trauma care and injury prevention. • Monitor patient progress during hospitalization and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure best outcomes. • Manage day-to-day operations of trauma services, including staffing, scheduling, and performance oversight. • Participate in departmental budget planning, resource allocation, and financial management. • Provide leadership in trauma program development, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. • Collaborate with medical directors, administrators, and external agencies to ensure trauma program readiness and adherence to accreditation standards. • Respond to emergency and crises as needed, maintaining readiness to assist in direct patient care and trauma procedures. Candidate requirements• BSN preferred (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). • Three to five years of Emergency or Critical Care experience preferred. • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to manage trauma care delivery. • Leadership experience in trauma program management or a related specialty is highly desirable. • Current California RN License. • BLS certification (American Heart Association). • ACLS certification. • PALS certification. • ENPC within 6 months of hire. • TNCC within 6 months of hire (Instructor preferred).
