Key Responsibilities: Function primarily as a trauma hospitalist, delivering bedside care and rounding on admitted patientsRespond to trauma alerts in the ED and facilitate patient discharges and admissionsPerform procedures including chest tube insertion, central line placement, arterial lines, suturing minor lacerations, and non-invasive ventilation managementManage an average of 6-14 patients per day, depending on ICU statusCollaborate with a dedicated trauma surgeon present 24/7, operating within a comprehensive trauma protocolMaintain accurate documentation in the EPICT electronic medical record systemHandle patient care across all age groups, primarily adults and adolescentsRequired Skills: Advanced clinical training as an NP or PA with trauma and emergency care experienceProficiency in trauma procedures such as chest tube insertion, central and arterial line placement, and ventilation managementStrong assessment and decision-making skills in a high-acuity settingAbility to respond promptly to trauma alerts and manage complex patient conditionsCompetence in documentation and communication within a team-oriented environmentNice to Have Skills: Experience with pediatric trauma casesPrevious work in a Level I trauma centerSkills in suturing and minor procedures beyond core requirementsKnowledge of the EPICT EMR systemPreferred Education and Experience: Master s degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant studiesPrior trauma, emergency medicine, or critical care experience, ideally in a Level I trauma settingCertification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and ACLSOther Requirements: Must be fully licensed and credentialed in MinnesotaAbility to work autonomously with supervision from trauma surgeonsNo call responsibilities; predominantly in-house coverageMileage reimbursement available for local providersEngagement in comprehensive clinical guidelines and documentation protocolsNorth Memorial does not reimburse credentialing or application feesTake this opportunity to contribute to an esteemed trauma program while advancing your skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.
